Profilo e Interessi di Ricerca

Antonio De Caro è uno storico dell'arte, specializzato nella storia degli incontri artistici tra la Cina e l'Europa, con una particolare attenzione alla trasmissione, ricezione e produzione della cultura materiale cattolica nella Cina pre-moderna.

La sua ricerca indaga le relazioni tra artisti, missionari, mercanti e intermediari culturali cinesi ed europei. Tali collaborazioni, sviluppatesi nel corso di più secoli, hanno contribuito a costruire una rete artistica globale che conserva ancora oggi la propria rilevanza storica e culturale.
